Failure to pay will result in not participating in future Regattas

Late Entries accepted at the discretion of the registrar and subject to a $50 surcharge

BRING ENTRY FEES TO COACHES' MEETING ON SATURDAY MORNING JULY 17th
Coaches' meeting to commence at the clerk's booth 1 hour before 1st race each day
One representative from each club is REQUIRED to attend daily meeting
Schedule for that Day's racing will be issued at coaches' meeting

COURSE PRACTICE TIMES
The course will be open for boats to practice between 6am-7am Saturday and Sunday.
All boats must be off the water 30 minutes before the start of the first race each day.

FEES MUST BE PAID IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE
Any fees owing from previous regattas must be paid in full

GENERAL INFORMATION
Submit Entries through ONE designated representative PER Club

*Unlimited entries/athlete - check event order for potential conflict

Competitors may compete in Master OR Jr/Sr Events - NOT both

ELIGIBILITY
Races restricted to Club Crews only
Exceptions will be made at the discretion of the Regatta Chairman - notification must be PRIOR to race day
All athletes must be registered members of the Club they are competing for as of June 23, 2010
If required, competitors must be able to validate their membership with the Club they are competing for
Only the Open 8 and 500m dashes are available to National or Composite Crews

  SENIOR    Open to all eligible athletes who reach the age of 23 years or older in 2010. Open to any rowing club in the world   UNDER 19   Open to eligible athletes born in 1992 or later. Open to any rowing club in the world
 
  UNDER 23  Open to eligible athletes born in 1988 or later. Open to any rowing club in the world.   UNDER 17   Open to eligible athletes born in 1994 or later. Open to any rowing club in the world


MASTERS

Age Calculated as of December 31st, 2010
Competitors (excluding coxswains) may not be younger than 27 by December 31st, 2010
Masters Age categories based on crew average age: A: 27+, B: 36+, C: 43+, D: 50+, E: 55+, F: 60+, G: 65+, H: 70+

If entries require Masters event to have combined ages in the same race, the start will be staggered
 by age (see grid below), to have the overall winner determined by the first boat across the finish line.

  • U17,U19,U23,Sr events will start from the start gates - 2000m - please ensure your crews have practiced backing into the start gates.

  • Masters races will be a floating start from  the 1000m pylon to the finish line - 1000m,

  • Dashes  will be a floating start from the 1500m pylon - 500m

  • Anticipated regatta time - approx. 8am-4:30pm Saturday, 8am-noon Sunday, (weather willing). Use for planning only, actual times will be issued upon completion of the draw

  • Anticipated time between races - based on last year - 6 mins.

  • The Grandstand will be open Saturday for race viewing but closed on Sunday. Spectators can view Sunday racing from Canal St. or Rennie Island.

  • GOLD MEDALS ONLY will be awarded to race winners (the same as Henley).

  • U17,U19,U23 medals will be awarded at the grandstand.

  • Senior/Masters/Dash medals will be awarded at the clerk's booth on the Island

  • PARKING:  There is a charge for parking.  Alternate parking locations may be used.  Be aware that this could add travel time. Factor this into your race day schedule to ensure your athletes are on time for their race.  It is important that you communicate this message to all parents and friends to avoid confusion on race day.  Inclement weather could force us to use satellite parking, so again please be aware and factor this into your travel logistics. 
     

    RCA Rules of Racing Exceptions
    This regatta will follow the RCA rules of racing with the divergence (per section1.7) below:

    2.1 The Definition of a competitor
    All athletes and coaches from Ontario clubs must be registered in the competitive fee category with ROWONTARIO  by July 10, 2010.
    Athletes and coaches from outside of Ontario must be members of their national federation
    National or Provincial Team EXHIBITION entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Regatta Chair.
    Competitors may be required to show photo and age identification (driver's license or health card) upon demand.

    2.10 Lightweight competitors
    See exception to weight allowance above.

    2.6 Weighing of Coxies
    Coxswains carrying the maximum 10kg deadweight and who fail to meet the weight requirement for the event(s) entered will not be excluded from that event for that day of the regatta.

    7.2 Entries
    RCA registration number not required.
    *Entries may be capped at three (3) per event per club at the Regatta Chair's discretion.

    7.6 Crew Substitutions
    Will be accepted at the Clerk's booth.

    9.3 Events with 7 or more competitors
    The draw progression will be heats direct to final

    10.5 Starting Procedure (with lights)
    There will not be a Start Judge in the alignment shack.

    10.20 Appeals
    Any appeal resulting out of a protest will be resolved by the on site Board of the Jury.
