HEAD COACH

The St. Catharines Rowing Club seeks an enthusiastic, organized individual to lead one of the largest rowing clubs in Canada. The Head Coach will lead a team of staff and a committed group of coaches to deliver programming across the full competition spectrum – Under 17, Under 19, Under 23, Senior and Masters competitive rowing. Along with a Junior Lead Coach, the Head Coach will oversee the club’s Youth Camp, Junior Development Program and celebrated SCRC high school affiliated program.

Upon the successful completion of a police records check, the successful applicant will enter a Contract of Employment as a full-time employee of the St. Catharines Rowing Club. Salary range $65,000 to $75,000, commensurate with the skills, experience and education of the applicant. A benefits package can be negotiated, with vacation time of 3 weeks beginning in the first year of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Build on a committed volunteer coaching staff through continuous development,
- Develop individualized plans of professional development for all coaches with respect to coaching education and certification;
- Provide meaningful input and feedback to all coaches on their programs, including
- Ensure the safety of all athletes and coaches;
- Work with the Junior Lead Coach to manage a fleet of shells and launches.
Experience and Qualifications:
- RCA “Performance Coach” Certified or working toward same;
- Valid Canadian Driver’s Licence and experience operating a truck and shell trailer;
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card;
- Experience with program design and management;
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills;
- Eligible to work in Canada and travel internationally if required.
