March 24

The St. Catharines Rowing Club is planning to run time trials for the opportunity to compete at the Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England. One Men’s Crew and one Women’s Crew will be selected based on their ability to achieve the minimum time trial performance standards that have been set.

Rowers who would like to be considered and are eligible should contact the following coaches depending on the category that is applicable. Travel dates are from June 16th through July 3rd, 2022. Details regarding SCRC's plans for the Henley Royal Regatta and Athlete and Coach requirements are available in the HRR Bulletin which is found here: HRR2022

The deadline for application and consideration is April 1st, 2022.

Each coach will have final authority on the crew selected to time trial.

Henley Royal Regatta Bulletin

March 24, 2022
The St. Catharines Rowing Club (SCRC) will send a women’s crew and a men’s crew to Henley Royal Regatta (HRR), which runs from June 28th to July 3rd in 2022. Entry fees, equipment rental, airfare, racing uniform, accommodations and meals while in England will be covered by the SCRC. It is the Club’s intention to provide this rare competitive opportunity at a regatta of the highest international standards without imposing costs on member athletes and coaches.

Athletes

To be eligible for selection, an athlete must submit a letter of intent to Rick Crooker via scrcpresident@gmail.com. This letter was due April 1st, 2022. A letter of intent acknowledges that an athlete is willing to participate in this racing project and should be submitted even if they are unsure of summer plans/availability at this time.

Linked within this bulletin is a blank letter of intent. Completing this letter declares an interest in trialing for selection and meeting all future requirements to remain eligible for competition. Once submissions are received, all athletes will be placed on a blanket email list for relevant communications regarding the HRR racing project.
