JUNIOR LEAD COACH

The St. Catharines Rowing Club seeks an enthusiastic, organized individual to help grow one of the largest rowing clubs in Canada. Reporting to the Head Coach, the Junior Lead Coach will assist in the development of club programs, with a main focus on junior programs and attracting new participants. The Junior programs include Under 17 and Under 19 competitive rowing, as well as the club’s Youth Camp, Junior Development Program and celebrated SCRC high school affiliated program.

Upon the successful completion of a police records check, the successful applicant will enter a Contract of Employment as a full-time employee of the St. Catharines Rowing Club. Salary range $55,000 to $60,000, commensurate with the skills, experience and education of the applicant. A benefits package can be negotiated, with 2 to 3 weeks vacation beginning in the first year of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver plans to introduce and recruit young athletes to the sport
- Support a committed volunteer coaching staff through mentoring, coach education and recognition
- Ensure the safety of all athletes and coaches
- Work with the Head Coach to manage a large fleet of shells and launches
Experience and Qualifications:
- RCA “Performance Coach” Certified or working toward same
- Valid Canadian Driver’s Licence and experience operating a truck and shell trailer
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card
- Experience with program design and management
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Eligible to work in Canada and travel internationally if required
