​JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Junior Development program focuses on fun, fitness, and skills in rowing! 

​The Junior Development program focuses on building the fundamental skills so athletes can row comfortably in different conditions and with different crew members. Skills competitions (e.g., stationary balance, backing, spinning) are held at least once a week. The program can act as a launchpad for athletes who want to join the club competitive program, as well as be a place for athletes who love rowing but want to participate in other sports and activities as well.
 
Youth will be supervised by experienced coaches who are qualified in first aid and CPR. When on the water, coaches drive alongside the rowing shells in a fully equipped motorized coach boat that includes life jackets, a whistle and cell phone, and other safety equipment. Coach:Youth ratio of 1:4.

PARTICIPANTS
Open to athletes who have completed grade 7 or above. Athletes must have completed a MINIMUM of two sessions of Youth Rowing Camp, or one session/season of junior development or high school rowing.

SESSIONS & OPTIONS
The Junior Development Program is organized into sessions, with two options:
  • ​a 2x/week session (Tuesday and Thursday).
  • a 3x/week session (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

Monday - Friday, 4-6pm

June (4 weeks June 3-28, 2024) FULL

Two options:

  • (M, W, F): First session is $245. Any additional sessions are $180.
  • (T, TH): First session is $185. Any additional sessions are $120.
Disregard invoices sent to you by RCA. Fees are paid by eTransfer, directly to SCRC.

Before you click send, have you:
  1. Provided a question which has the security answer "rowing" and
  2. Included, in the memo line or comments, the name of the athlete and the dates of the camp they are attending to whom the payment will apply.
Junior Development 3 days/week: First session is *$245. Any additional sessions are $180. 
Junior Development 2 days/week: First session is *$185. Any additional sessions are $120.
​*$65 per person is added to the first session that is selected. For any subsequent programs this year you will not be required to pay the fee again. All Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA)/RowOntario (RO) membership fees are to be included in the program fee payable to the St. Catharines Rowing Club. ​
